Privacy notice
Plain-language version · Last updated 31 October 2026 · Written under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the NDPC's GAID 2025
The short version
We sell power stations, and this website helps you work out which one fits your home or shop. We deliberately collect as little as possible: you never type your name, phone number or payment details into this site. If you contact us, that conversation happens on WhatsApp or by phone, under WhatsApp's and your phone network's own privacy terms.
This notice follows the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission's General Application and Implementation Directive 2025 (GAID), which replaced the old NDPR as the operative rulebook in September 2025.
Who is responsible (the data controller)
Greatpec Synergy, Shop G-36, Garki Model Market (Old Market), Garki 2, Abuja, FCT. The fastest way to reach us about anything in this notice is the WhatsApp button on this site, or walk into the shop and speak to any of our staff.
What we collect, and why
Your answers in the sizing tool (which appliances you picked and how long light usually goes off), stored against a random plan code like GP-XXXXXX rather than against you. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in giving honest sizing advice (NDPA s.25).
Button taps and page views (for example, when a model page is opened or a contact button is pressed) so we can see which information helps people most. These records carry the same anonymous plan code, a timestamp, and the button's purpose.
When you tap a WhatsApp button, our server records that the link was used (plan code, which button, the advertising parameters if any, and the time). The message itself stays in WhatsApp, not on this site.
Alongside your plan code we keep the standard technical identifiers already described above (IP address, browser type, and Meta's anonymous cookie identifiers) so that, if you later book an inspection or buy, we can tell Meta that it happened, as one event tied to the same visit. We never attach your name, phone number or email, because we never collect them.
Standard technical server logs (IP address, browser type) kept briefly for security and to keep the site fast.
Meta (Facebook) analytics and the Conversions API
If our optional Meta analytics tag is switched on, Meta Platforms, Inc. receives technical information through two routes: the browser tag (Meta Pixel) and a matching server-to-server connection (Conversions API). The information shared is limited to: pages viewed and events taken (such as starting the sizing tool, completing it, or tapping a WhatsApp button), the page URL, your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and Meta's own anonymous cookie identifiers (_fbp, and _fbc if you arrived from an ad). We never send your name, phone number, email or home address, because we never collect them. Events may carry the anonymous plan code so we can tell which advice led to a purchase enquiry.
This is a disclosure to a third party and a transfer outside Nigeria. It is described here because the NDPA requires us to tell you the recipients or categories of recipients before we collect anything. We send it to Meta under its controller terms with contractual commitments, and we keep a record of the transfer basis and safeguards as required by NDPA s.41. You can opt out of Meta's use of this information through Meta's own account settings and ad preferences.
The Meta tag is OFF unless our analytics identifier is configured. While it is off, nothing is sent to Meta from this site.
What we never collect on this site
Your name, phone number, email, address or payment details. There are no forms on this site that ask for them. The one exception is our internal staff page, which is protected by a password and not part of the public site.
We do not sell your information, and we do not run third-party advertising scripts other than the optional Meta tag described above.
Cross-border transfer
Meta Processes your technical data mainly in the United States, so the analytics described above involves a transfer outside Nigeria. NDPA ss.41 to 43 allow such a transfer where the recipient is bound by law, contractual clauses or certification that affords an adequate level of protection, or on other lawful transfer grounds. We rely on Meta's binding contractual commitments (Meta Ireland/Meta Platforms, Inc. standard data terms) and we record the basis and safeguards for this transfer as s.41 requires. If you have questions about this specific transfer, ask us on WhatsApp and we will answer in plain language.
How long we keep things
Sizing answers, click logs, redirect logs and the technical identifiers described above are kept no longer than 24 months, after which they are deleted or de-identified. They are used to improve the sizing advice, to keep honest records of our own stock and pricing decisions, and to measure which of our own adverts lead to real shop bookings and sales. Server security logs are kept for a shorter period. Nothing is kept longer than we need it (NDPA storage-limitation principle, s.24).
Your rights, and how to use them
Under the NDPA you can ask us what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our processing, and complain to the regulator. Because our records are anonymous plan codes, we can only act on a request if you give us the plan code shown on your plan page (for example from your browser history or your WhatsApp message to us).
To exercise a right: send us a WhatsApp message or visit the shop with your plan code. We will act on it within a reasonable time and always within the statutory window. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng) at any time; we would rather fix it first, but that right is always yours.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site uses a single first-party cookie to remember your anonymous plan code, which is functional and needs no permission. If the optional Meta tag is switched on, Meta's own cookies (_fbp, and _fbc after an ad click) apply under Meta's policies, and you can block them any time in your browser settings. This setup does not require a separate cookie consent banner.
